when doing payroll just clicking on any of the time blocks - approves that block. which makes it very easy to inadvertantly approve something, and in the custom field it approves it before you can make an entry, for example clicking on the finish time approves it, so I have to wait (internet in our area can be very slow) until the approved tick comes up, click again make the change and then approve. Too many times things have come up approved, just because i clicked on the custom box.
